This unit is an introduction to the cultural underpinnings of garment design and construction. The unit examines form and structure through an exploration of wrapping, draping, tying techniques, which are carried out in conjunction with the investigation of different cultural notions of decoration, modesty, protection and the concept of the global village. -- Course Website
